FAQs
Obesity and Obesity Treatment
What is obesity and how is it defined?
Obesity is a long-term health condition defined by excess body fat that may impair health. Obesity is a chronic disease, and it results from a complex relationship of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. The implication is significant increases in the risk of numerous diseases, including T2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain types of cancer.
What are the health risks associated with obesity?
Obesity is associated with increased risks of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, and other chronic conditions.
How can I determine if I'm obese?
Obesity is generally diagnosed using BMI, which is a calculation that considers your weight and height. Please speak to your HCP or your Obesity Clinic about any diagnose and treatment.
What are the most effective treatments for obesity?
Please speak to your HCP or your Obesity Clinic.
What is GLP-1 and how effective is this drug class in treating obesity?
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone that regulates blood sugar and appetite. GLP-1s are medications that mimic this hormone. They are highly effective for weight management, with some drugs resulting in 15-17% mean weight loss. Please speak to your HCP or Obesity Clinic about what is right for you.
What are the side effects of GLP-1 - and GLP-1 based treatments (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound)?
The most common side effects of GLP-1s are gastrointestinal, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain. According to the scientific literature, gastrointestinal side effects during GLP-1 based therapy usually develop in 40–70% of treated patients, although they have sometimes been reported in up to 85%. Please speak to your HCP or Obesity Clinic for more details.
What are the implications of the side effects for obesity therapy based on GLP-1 (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound)?
Beyond discomfort, side effect symptoms can significantly degrade the quality of life by causing continuous distress and limiting daily activities. GLP-1 side effects may lead to the temporary or permanent discontinuation of treatment, reduced quality of life, frustrations and not achieving the expected results of the obesity therapy. Interruption of therapy has been reported to occur in a high number of patients. Dropout rates of 30% after 4 weeks are seen in a large US Real-world study with nearly 170.000 patients.
Side effects of obesity therapy not only reduce the effectiveness of the treatment but also negatively impact patients' quality of life, leading to frustration for both patients and their families and can lead to discontinuation. An additional significant challenge in managing obesity therapy is that the time spent addressing side effects during doctor-patient interactions often detracts from meaningful discussions about obesity management, reducing the focus on long-term health strategies.

Gut Health, Gut Microbiome, and Probiotics
What is gut health?
Gut health refers to the optimal functioning of the digestive system, including efficient digestion and nutrient absorption, a balanced gut microbiome, proper gut barrier function, and a healthy immune response. It involves the well-being of the entire gastrointestinal tract, from the stomach to the intestines and colon. A healthy gut is characterized by a diverse community of beneficial microorganisms and the absence of digestive issues. The gut is often referred to as the second brain.
What is the link between obesity and gut health?
Research has shown that obesity is associated with alterations in the gut microbiome composition, typically characterized by a lower diversity of gut bacteria. People with obesity often have different proportions of certain bacterial phyla, such as a higher ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes, compared to lean individuals.
What is the gut microbiome?
The gut microbiome refers to the trillions of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, that live in our digestive tract. These microorganisms play crucial roles in digestion, immune function, and overall health.
How does the gut microbiome affect overall health?
The gut microbiome influences various aspects of health, including digestion, metabolism, immune function, and even mental health. A balanced microbiome can contribute to better overall health, while an imbalanced microbiome may lead to various health issues and reduced quality of life.
What are probiotics and how do they benefit gut health?
Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria that, when consumed in adequate amounts, can provide health benefits. They help maintain a healthy balance of gut bacteria, support digestion, boost immune function etc.
Can probiotics help with weight loss?
Some studies suggest that certain probiotic strains may aid in weight loss by influencing metabolism, reducing fat absorption, and regulating appetite hormones. However, probiotics should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise for optimal results.
What are prebiotics and how do they differ from probiotics?
Prebiotics are types of dietary fiber that feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut. Unlike probiotics, which are live bacteria, prebiotics are non-digestible food components that promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
How can I improve my gut health naturally?
You can improve gut health by eating a diverse diet rich in fiber, consuming fermented foods, staying hydrated, managing stress, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. These practices help maintain a healthy balance of gut bacteria.
What foods are good for gut health?
Foods that promote gut health include fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, fermented foods like yogurt and kimchi, whole grains, and foods high in polyphenols such as berries, dark chocolate, and green tea.
How does stress affect gut health?
Stress can negatively impact gut health by altering the balance of gut bacteria, increasing gut permeability, and affecting digestion. Managing stress through techniques like meditation or exercise can help maintain a healthy gut.
Can gut health affect mental health?
Yes, there's a strong connection between gut health and mental health, often referred to as the gut-brain axis. The gut microbiome can influence the production of neurotransmitters, potentially affecting mood and cognitive function.
Can gut health affect treatment with GLP-1 based products (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound)
Yes, good gut health may enhance the effectiveness of obesity treatment with GLP-1s and GLP-1 based products. A balanced gut microbiome can potentially improve the body's response to these medications. Beneficial gut bacteria can produce metabolites that stimulate natural GLP-1 secretion. Furthermore, a healthy gut may support better intestinal barrier function, which could contribute to the overall efficacy of the treatment and reduce the side-effects. By maintaining good gut health, patients may optimize their response to obesity therapy, potentially leading to better outcomes incl better weight loss, better quality of life, less likelihood of drop-out and more sustainable treatment results.
How long does it take to see improvements in gut health?
While individual responses vary, some people may notice improvements in digestion and overall well-being within a few days to weeks of making positive changes or taking a probiotic. However, significant changes in the gut microbiome composition may take several months. There is still a lot we do not know about the gut microbiome.
Are there any risks associated with probiotic supplements?
While probiotics are generally safe for most people, people with compromised immune systems or serious health conditions should consult an HCP before taking probiotic supplements.
Forte80
What is Forte80?
Forte80 is a scientifically formulated probiotic supplement designed to provide comprehensive support for patients on obesity therapy (GLP-1 based obesity product: Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound). Designed for optimal gut support on your weight loss journey.
How does Forte80 work?
Forte80 works by introducing beneficial live microorganisms to the gut, where they can colonize and multiply. These good bacteria then help improve gut health by competing with harmful bacteria, producing beneficial compounds, supporting the immune system, and enhancing the intestinal barrier function.
What are the main ingredients in Forte80?
Forte80 is a scientifically formulated probiotic supplement designed to provide comprehensive support for patients on obesity treatment. Each serving (2 capsules daily) contains a total of 80 billion CFU, carefully distributed among four scientifically backed probiotic strains:
- Bifidobacterium lactis AZHx1: 45 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus reuteri AZHx2: 5 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus casei AZHx3: 15 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG: 15 billion CFU
Azento Health has developed 3 of these strains and has IP rights.
Is Forte80 powerful?
The formulation is based on a comprehensive understanding of the gut microbiome, gut health, biotics, obesity, and GLP-1/AOM therapy. The multi-strain formulation delivers a complementary and synergistic effect. 80 billion CFU is a high CFU count for a probiotic product, and this may lead to a larger and more sustainable effect of the gut microbiome. High CFU counts are often associated with more potent probiotic effects, including better support for gut health and immune function.
Are there any side effects associated with Forte80?
No
How do you ensure that the probiotic capsules reach the right place in the gut microbiome?
Forte80 is encapsulated in a vegetable capsule and protected with cryo-technology, which ensures their stability through the stomach and bile acids. This allows them to survive the harsh digestive environment and reach the gut intact. The capsule is designed to dissolve only when it reaches the intestines, where the pH is more alkaline. Once in the gut, the probiotic strains can colonize and support the microbiome effectively. This targeted delivery system maximizes the beneficial impact of our product on gut health.
When should I take Forte80?
You can take the capsules anytime. We recommend in the morning as the first thing you do before your breakfast. This will be fantastic support for your weight loss journey and your day.
How long does it take to see results with Forte80?
Individual responses may vary based on factors such as diet, lifestyle, overall health status, etc. The high CFU count (80 billion) in Forte80 contributes to potentially faster and more pronounced effects compared to a lower formulation. The first impact will be within 1-7 days and the full expected effect will be within 4-12 weeks.
Consistent and long-term use is crucial for achieving and maintaining the full benefits of Forte80 – and other probiotics. The combination of diverse probiotic strains allows for a multi-faceted approach to gut health, addressing various aspects of GLP-1-related side effects, overall digestive wellness and gut health.
Can Forte80 be used alongside other weight loss methods?
Yes, it is designed to be used with obesity products like GLP-1. It is not an obesity drug, but a supplement to support patients with gut health on their weight journey.
Is Forte80 suitable for everyone?
Probiotics are generally safe for most people. People with compromised immune systems, below 18 years of age or having serious health conditions should consult an HCP before taking probiotic supplements.

What time a day?
